Glimpses of Hội An, Vietnam

I had read about Hội An. I wasn’t expecting to see what I saw. The hustle bustle; the vibrant colours; the inviting shops; the incense aroma; the living history. The place was alive. I was charmed, longing to return. This is what I saw through the eyes of a street photographer. A remarkable sight.

Magic Lanterns

They were everywhere. In shops, in streets, in boats, wherever I could cast my eyes. They certainly add the magic touch to Hội An.

Street food (and drinks)

The aroma of the smoke from the coal grill fills the air. Very tempting, but I didn’t have the courage.

Riverside

Hội An is on the banks of the Thu Bồn river. This river and the bridges on it are a different spectacle in the night.

Charming Ladies of Hội An

The glow of the candles gently shining on their wrinkled face was remarkable. The timing wasn’t right for the lantern festival, nevertheless.

Still life

There was a lot, in shops, in the heritage buildings. These really caught my attention.

Hội An in Monochrome

Overall, Hội An is filled with colours. It was hard for me to imagine it without colour.
